A future full of opportunities

A charitable bequest is a meaningful gesture, a gift through which you continue to uphold your own values. It is a choice which ensures the respect for your will, whilst safeguarding at the same time the rights of your heirs.

Making a charitable bequest to Trisomy 21 APS means ensuring a future full of opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome or other intellectual disabilities of a similar nature, supporting their journey towards the greatest independence possible and genuine inclusion in society.

What is a charitable bequest?

A charitable bequest is a gesture of great generosity, which allows you to continue supporting people with disabilities on their journey through life and as they grow, even after you are no longer with us.

It is a provision in your will through which you ensure that your wishes are respected and your values of inclusion are upheld even after your death, whilst safeguarding the rights of your heirs.

Why make a will?

To ensure that your wishes are respected and that your assets, safeguarding the rights of your heirs, go towards upholding your values of inclusion, ensuring a future full of opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome or other intellectual disabilities of a similar nature.

What can I give?

You don’t need huge fortunes to ensure a future full of opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome and intellectual disabilities whom we support: any bequest is important.

  • A sum of money of any amount
  • Valuables, such as a painting, jewellery, a piece of furniture…
  • Movable and immovable property such as an flat, a house, a building…
  • Severance payments upon termination of employment
  • The entire estate, in the absence of any heirs of the first degree.

You can leave us a life insurance policy naming Trisomia 21 APS as the beneficiary. The life insurance policy does not form part of the estate to be inherited.

Is an inheritance bequeathed to charities subject to tax?

No, it is not subject to any tax.
Bequests, gifts made during one’s lifetime and insurance policies are completely exempt from taxation and their value is used entirely to to support the social cause to which they are intended.

Why make a bequest to Trisomy 21 APS?

With a bequest you help to build a future in which all the people whom we support can have a life full and rich in opportunities.

  • Provide pathways to independence, to learn to manage their time, get around on their own in town, manage their money, taking care of oneself and one’s own belongings.
  • Support the students throughout their schooling, to promote learning, the development of social and interpersonal skills, and friendships with peers.
  • Launch individual projects in the field of work: starting at work, vocational training, support for integration into the workplace.
  • Contribute to the creation of projects for independence housing and independent living.
