{"id":3870,"date":"2026-03-26T12:00:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T11:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/at21.it\/just-evolve\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T17:15:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T16:15:30","slug":"just-evolve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/at21.it\/en\/just-evolve\/","title":{"rendered":"Just Evolve"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 21 March 2026, the Italian National Coordination of Down Syndrome Associations launched the new global campaign \u201cJust Evolve\u201d<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JUST EVOLVE | World Down Syndrome Day 2026\" width=\"1333\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bB07h9WM5A8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>This year, the focus is on language, and in particular on the use of certain expressions which, even today, reinforce stereotypes and prejudices against people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abWe are aware that in 90% of cases when people people use these words, it is not to offend directly the people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But their use contributes to creating a cultural context that associates disability with incapacity, failure and marginalisation. The words we choose shape reality \u2013 both that of others and our own perception of it \u2013 and can either include or exclude, and clarify or confuse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We want to ask every person who still today uses these harmful expressions to stop.
